Classes are $20 each, or $35 for both. You can bring your own drum, or add $5 to rent a djembe.
Namory Keita and Seny Daffe are both masters of their tradition. Namory will guide us through the basics of how to play a rhythm on the djembe, and Seny will get us into the groove of this beautiful and energizing dance.
Namory will be performing with Marita Kennedy-Castro and their group New Moon Ensemble for a couple of free shows this coming weekend if you want to watch. Friday, September 17 in Waterville at Waterville Arts, 18 Main Street AND Sunday September 19 Cumberland Center, ME 282 Maine Street. (Masks required for both of these - free - indoor events.

The Drum Builders Conference is a yearly event, usually early summer, where drum builders come from far and wide to share their knowledge and teach their skills to students and other builders. Not to be missed!
Namory loves this conference, as a drum builder himself, he brings a great deal of knowledge to the table. He has a great time with all the builders and students that attend. If you are interested in drum construction-this is the place to be!
