Nms Laughs in SangbrallaTime to level up with your Djembé or Dounoun playing?

Explore the intricate layers of West African traditional ensemble playing with Master Village Drummer Namory Keita. There are few opportunities to really study the village style West African repertoire and Namory is one of a hand-full of Masters of the style here in the United States ready to share his culture with us. How lucky we are to have access to such a special teacher! Namory's joy is infectious and his style and knowledge of the culture is amazing - don't miss this rare opportunity he is providing for his intermediate and advanced students. Namory is vey excited to be able to offer this workshop to welcome in Spring before his schedule takes off. So lets do this!

Take the first half or take the whole workshop!

The first half will concentrate on the complexities of the Djembé, setting our rhythmic stage for the completion of the ensemble with Dounouns. The second half will be dedicated to developing the dounoun bass lines for the rhythms we learned in the first half along with variations to enrich your playing.

First Half: 11 AM - 1 PM $35 / $40 at the door
Entire Workshop: 11 AM - 3:30 PM $60 / $70 at the door

Bring a lunch and any brain food needed (maybe water and caffeine!), a recording device, Djembé, sticks and the whole family of Dounouns that you can fit in your car!
